Dancehall Pop Up Tournament – Terms and Conditions

This tournament is a strict 'Game of Skill' judged entirely on performance merit, vocal ability, crowd response, and lyrical dexterity by a panel of appointed judges. It does not constitute gambling, a lottery, or a game of chance under the Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Act of Jamaica. No entry fees or purchases are required from artists to compete or win.

• All participants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of registration. A valid Jamaican government-issued photo ID (TRN, National ID, Passport, or Driver’s License) must be presented upon request to verify identity and claim prizes.
• Registration operates strictly on a first-come, first-served basis opening at 10:00 AM on the morning of each scheduled pop-up.
• Only the first 20 individuals to be fully processed by the event staff will receive a ticket to perform.
• The organizers bear absolutely no liability or responsibility for persons waiting in line who fail to secure one of the 20 available slots due to capacity limitations.

Lyrical confrontation, clashing, and competitive 'war' elements are core parts of Jamaican Dancehall culture and are fully permitted on stage. However, a strict zero-tolerance policy is enforced for physical misconduct:

• Any physical violence, brandishing of weapons, direct threats of physical harm, incitement of crowd violence, or destruction of property will result in immediate disqualification.
• Disqualified artists instantly forfeit all tournament points, standing positions, and eligibility for any portion of the $20,000 USD grand prize.

By registering, stepping onto the stage, or attending a Dancehall Pop Up event, all artists and patrons grant the Organizers a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free right and license to record, film, photograph, livestream, and broadcast their performance, voice, name, and likeness. This media may be used for marketing, monetization, website content, and promotional purposes across any media platform without further compensation.

• The total Grand Prize of $20,000 USD will be awarded exclusively to the single Season Champion crowned at the final Grand Finale in Kingston.
• Milestone or qualifying stops do not guarantee a cash payout unless expressly stated by the organizers.
• The winner is solely responsible for any applicable local Jamaican taxes or banking fees associated with receiving the cash transfer or payout.

To the maximum extent permitted by Jamaican law, the organizers, venue owners, sponsors, and web platform creators shall not be held liable for any personal injury, loss, property damage, or theft occurring at the live pop-up locations. Furthermore, the organizers are not liable for technical website glitches, mobile voting delays, or internet connectivity issues affecting leaderboard tracking during live events.

All tournament rulings made by the appointed judges, authorized event officials, hosts, or official crowd-response tallies are final and binding. This agreement is governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Jamaica.
